Amber Turner

Amber is the Communications Coordinator for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at South Dakota State University. With nearly a decade of experience in higher education, she began her career teaching Speech 101—arguably every student’s favorite class—where she discovered a passion for showing the real-world value of communication.

That experience led her into marketing and communications in higher education. Today, Amber teaches Social Media Strategies online at SDSU while also creating content, leading internal and external campaigns, and helping shape the college’s overall marketing strategy. She also brings that real-world experience back into the classroom, teaching her students how to do the same.

Collaboration is central to her work, as she supports seven schools and two departments in building a strong and cohesive brand.
